So, last week was A Week.

In minor news: firefox crashed, taking all my links for a new link post with it. University is also eating my time a bit, so next link post will be arriving... whenever it arrives.

In less minor news--

I had the chemistry lab from hell on wednesday! Featuring glassware shattering, a chemical burn-- and getting kicked out of the lab for crying! But not before washing up. I was apparently unsafe to handle dangerous chemicals, but not unsafe to dispose (aka HANDLE) dangerous chemicals?
¯(ツ)/¯ So that was a bit of a blow to the ego and the cope reserves. I managed to handle the lab the next day, and apparently a lot of other people found the wednesday lab to be ridiculously stressful, so that was affirming.

I'm being a Responsible Adult, and scheduling a time to come catch up on the lab, even though I don't wanna. ('What if people see my badness at chemistry, and judge me!' and also I don't want to give up what would be an afternoon for free time.)

(Also, I think I may have Concerned the head lab tech, which I'm torn between being annoyed by and finding funny. No I'm not going to end up like [student he told me a long winded anecdote about, ending with one of his least favourite first aid incidents ever])

In happier news, apparently I'm getting the prize for being the best second year Earth Sciences student last year-- which I find kinda funny, because I am not an Earth Science major. I considered changing my major to it! But then I realised I would have to take first year maths again, and so I stuck with chemistry. Way to make that decision feel silly in hindsight, university!

And also in happy news--

I've been doing the couch to 5k program, which is this guided running app-program thing to progressively build up your running endurance from the ground up. I tried it last year, only got two weeks through it, and those two weeks were a struggle. (For context, the first two weeks involve running for 1 minute, walking for 1.5 mins, repeat for 30 minutes.)

This year? I've just finished week 7 of 9, and I can run for 25 minutes straight. It's a Thing, but it's a Totally Doable Thing. I may even have to change my route, because while at the moment it is a loop that ends at my house, I'm getting the point where the time+distance I run mean if I keep doing that loop I might miss my house.

Horse riding is also going well. My position is finally good! I can do things I used to struggle with! It's great.

Holy bejeezer! What a lab! D: Chem labs (and organic chem labs) have all been the banes of my academic existence, and this was even more wild. D: I'm glad you're okay!

Also props on the couch to 5k!!! That's such great progress!
