Paranoia of Forensic Files
Apr. 6th, 2019 10:27 amI'm one those people who fall asleep easier when there's a soothing voice in the background. It's also good for when I wake up in the middle of the night, because it's just engaging enough that it keeps me in bed and stops me from wandering off, but still soothing enough that I'll probably fall asleep pretty quickly.
The narrator of Forensic Files has an alarmingly soothing voice, and even with all the gunshots and screaming in that show, they're mixed very quietly-- Which is to say, I've watched an alarming amount of Forensic Files while going to sleep.
The problem with the show is that it's given me a weird paranoia of all the evidence I leave behind doing day to day activities. The fingerprints on the refrigerator, the shed hair on the carpet, the DNA left on a discarded straw-- I keep having moments, when I pick up a glass, of 'Oh no, now they'll know I was here!'
...before I remember that a) there is no 'they' at the moment who is collecting forensic evidence of me (at least I'm pretty sure there isn't) and b) ~Oh noes~, they'd have proof I was in my own house.
Still, it's an enjoyable show, if you're a certain sort of person. I personally have fun checking off the all the spectroscopic/investigative techniques that they use on the show that I have also done. Also: judging their spectra. Judging their spectra so hard.
