(aka a continuation of the 'gaaaaah' series.)

So, it's got to the point where the best way to solve my 'what the hell do I major in?' problems by talking to an academic advisor.

Booking an appointment with an academic advisor is a byzantine process (that may be even more byzantine than what I've seen, considering I haven't seen all of it.) For example, there's a list of four reasons to see an academic advisor. You have to pick one. These four reasons do not cover the totality of 'Reasons One Might Need To See An Academic Advisor,' so I had to go "This is kinda like my problem...?"

But that was not the worst part of the process. The worst part is:

  • They have no slots left for the whole of July. At all. (I am not the least organised person at this university, and considering that more disorganised people are more likely to have these sorts of problems-- yeah they do not have enough slots.)
  • They have no slots left before the census date.

So, my current plan is to show up there at 9am, bright eyed and bushy tailed and say in my sweetest voice "There appears to be some sort of bizarre computer glitch with your booking system. I couldn't get an appointment at all! Because it was a computer problem, I thought it would be simplest to sort this out in person! :D" with a back up plan of ? Oh, so that wasn't a glitch, and you are booked out? Well, I guess I'll just wait here in case someone doesn't show up for their appointment :D"
