Other Geo (OG): Looks like you’ve got your mining belt on upside down.
Me: Does that matter?
OG: Not really, it’s just more comfortable the right way up.
Me: ...ugh, I’ve already had to put my self rescuer* on the belt twice, and I’m not going to do it again, so I’m just going to live with it.
*A heavy-ish metal tin of safety.
OG: ...you’ve got your self rescuer** on upside down.
**A heavy-ish metal tin with a distinct right way up, where it doesn’t work so good upside down.

Me: Okay, I’m about to head underground. I have the strange feeling I’m forgetting something. [Patting self down] I’ve got my shift sheet, I’ve got my wellies, I’ve got my mining belt with lamp battery and self rescuer-- oh, I know! I forgot the safety glasses. [Puts them on.] I’m all set.
Me: [walks forward.]
[Something makes a weird scraping sound on the desk behind me.]
[Something tugs on my belt.]
Me: [turns around.]
[There, sitting on the desk, is my helmet, tethered to me by the lamp battery, but importantly not on my head.]
Me: ...right.
