I've finished my last midsemester exam! ...now I have a bunch of labs to do [flops]. At least the exams are done, that's something, right?

Also, I ended up watching some Tidying Up With Marie Kondo, and I've discovered something: that show makes me want to clean. Which is good, because there's some room reorganisation I want to do, and hopefully occaisional doses of the show will keep me motivated.

Plus, writing my goals down here might also encourage me. Both in the sense of 'if people know, I might be embarassed to not do it' and also 'if people know, they might be encouraging when I tell them what I have achieved.

Thus, the reorganisations goals are as follows:

  1. Deal With The Bookshelf: I have too many books, and not enough shelf. I don't want to get rid of a particular number of books, but there's some books that are taking up space purely because I haven't read them. I don't know whether they are likely to be re-read, and thus worthy of shelf space.
    • Temporary Book Moratorium: No more books from the library, and certainly no buying of books, until a significant chunk of progress on this is done.
    • Read the unreads: Self explanatory
      • If the idea of trying to read a book fills me with dread, I'm taking that as a "doesn't deserve the shelf space"
    • Stretch goal: reorganise the bookshelfs a bit. My McCaffrey and Tolkiens are spread out across multiple shelves, and that's unhelpful.
  2. Deal With The Stuff Corner: I have a corner of my room which is filled with plastic boxes of things. The most easily accessible things art the stuff in boxes on top of the pile. Problem is, these boxes are blocking access to some cupboards and a large chunk of bookshelf. The probability I want to access things in that area goes bookshelf > cupboard > bottom of box pile > top of box pile... which is the exact opposite of the current accessibility.
    • Move the boxes: Put them out of the corner. -Put box contents in other places, where appplicable: Some of the stuff in those boxes doesn't "spark joy", it can go. Some of the stuff in boxes could, in theory, go into the cupboards it is currently blocking off. -Protect the wool stash: The bottom box is my wool stash. The reason it's at the bottom, despite me wanting to access it a lot, is because this house has a moth problem-- and the box's lid doesn't quite fit. So the current way to keep the lid moth tight is by putting a lot of weight on it. This is silly. There has to be a better way.
  3. Reorganise the Pyjamas: There is no where for my pyjamas to live! There should be a place for them to live.
