May I get a "HELL YEAH!"? Half a million words on ao3, let's goooooo---
It's taken me about ten years and one month to get from my first work posted on ao3, which is-- something. Dizzying? Proudness-inspiring? I do like how those two milestones coincided accidentally.
Due to the way my writing process works, I have plausibly written one million words by now. (Hell, that's a conservative estimate and probably undercounting it.) I know that "you have to write one million words of crap before you are good" is just-- a phrase. An arbitrary number. I'm standing at the One Million Words Camp, and there's a whole lot of mountain still left to climb, but I'm making progress. The metaphorical mountain is getting climbed, goddamnit, and I have milestone to show off and prove it with.
