Nov. 23rd, 2023 05:31 pm- I was randomly reminded today of Australian satire group the Chaser's greatest stunt: the time they snuck into APEC dressed as Osama Bin Laden. And I also found a Guardian interview about it.
- A cute binturong!
- A collection of creative Halloween costumes from China
- A comedy skit about Duolingo
- clickbait and the inverted pyramid model of news
- sanctuary animals have opinions of frozen fruit
- The sound of music, but make it internet (NB: quite nsfw)
- zoo accreditation bodies don't let staff anonymously report problems
- tumblr's parent body apparently actually checks DMCA notices? That's nice.
Also, I think it would be fun to continue the music corner from last week:
- Jonathan Young and First To Eleven have both covered 1985 by Bowling For Soup
- I have been listening to On The Rocks by Ken Ashcorp on loop. It's a fun little song to groove to, and probably a good introduction to Ken Aschcorp? (In that it shows off his groovy instrumentation and melodies, without the explicit and occasionally "wHY, KEN????" lyrics).
- Plus, some nostalgia listens for Miracle of Sound's Hard Cash
