Thanks to bingewatching 'Ask a Mortician' and reading a bunch of romance novels + a'how to write romance novels' book, my brain ended up producing the first scene of an f/f undertaker/vampire romance?

I've written it down, naturally. And like, it'll probably stay as just this one scene. But it was fun to write. And featured a weird meetcute, in the form of the vampire tryng to break out of the body refrigerator she found herself in.

Oh no, that sounds so scary for the vampire!

Yep, the poor old vamp got quite a fright! She managed to keep it mostly cool during that scene, but it's likely in the next scene that she came very close to dying permanently. (Most modern western funerary practices have a tendency to kill vampires. Unintentionally, but it's still a thing.)

Oh man, what if that was one of the original intents of those practices, in your story? Long forgotten, but held on to...

I think for *some* older practices that's the case, but for some of the newer ones it's unintentional. (One of the things about vampires in modern times is most people don't think they exist, and the ones that do tend to misunderstand how they work, because how they work is fairly different to folklore.)
