Look, sometimes all you want is a delightful action romp in an over the top fantasy world, and this is definitely that.
This book is mostly about Neave Blacktalon, Stormcast Eternal (read: amnesiac lightning einherjar people) and huntress of Sigmar, hunting down a Bad Plague Dude with the help of Tarion (flying bow carrying stormcast eternal with some great by play with Neave) and Katalya (a reckless 16 year old lone survivor, who is just made of VENGEANCE and GRUMP.)
And it's delightful.
The combat scenes are very... whooshy? They feel fast and fluid and there are actual stakes. The interplay of snark and trust between Neave and Tarion is great, it is all round very nice.
And there's a gay couple!...they die almost immediately, but hey, they're there, that something by Black Library standards.
