Honestly, I think the most sensible option for me is to just admit that for the long term my sexuality is 'questioning.' ('Yeah, I have one of those, just, uh, let me get back to you on what it is exactly.')

Though it does give me images of doing spectroscopy on my sexuality. 'So, all the NMRs we did have failed to be useful, so we're working on making a big enough crystal for X-ray diffraction.'

I love this metaphor. (I do not do spectroscopy... we wanted to get someone to do NIRS analysis on a bunch of stuff including cowshit for my PhD, which would've been fun, buuuuut no money)
