Aug. 12th, 2019 04:36 pmI've started emailing people about them potentially being my Honours supervisors (Honours= roughly equivalent to a Masters, but for 1 year and also undergraduate. Still involves research.).
I have had... a lot of emails back. You know the slightly creepy pick-up artist metaphor of 'spinning plates'? That's what this feels like. I have so many meetings to juggle.
I also have to portray myself as competent and not wishy washy and like someone you'd want to let loose on your machines that go beep, as well as being truthful-- and while none of those are like, contradictory? It's a conversational needle I have to thread and I don't wanna.
Aaaaaaaaah.
This will turn out okay*. It's just stressful in the interim.
*One of the emails was pretty much "Hey, I remember you, you were one of the top 2 students in my class, and did the talk about horse evolution." So, at least one potential supervisor thinks of me positively?
