So, good news: I've made it through the first half of semester! Without breaking down and crying once! (Doing earth science, and not doing goddamned chem labs: such a good decision.) And now I will be mostly free for the next two weeks, except for some research essays and having to go into used the goddamned microprobe. (My class was booked to use it next week. I was the only person ready, so it got rescheduled. And I'm a bit annoyed because now I have to go in to uni twice on days I could be having off, after I was responsible and got ready by the set due date. It's a little frustrating that I am the most organised person in my class, and it keeps meaning I put in more work than other people for less gain*. /grumblegrumblegrumble/.)

But, onto the slightly sadder news. Remember the stuffed horse in a charity shop from two weeks ago?. I decided to wait to get it. Because it was nearly the mid-semester break, and some things are sacred, like the Mid-Semester Break Reward For Being A Brave Bunny actually occurring at the mid-semester break. I knew there was a risk someone else would snaffle it, but it was a risk I decided to take--

--You know how the previous post mentioned Mood Crash City. Hi. I'm on an unintentional, but in hindsight predictable, holiday there. Because someone had, in the last two weeks, gone 'Wow, that's a very good stuffed horse-- and now it is my very good horse.'

I knew this was a possibility, and I thought that thinking up potential second choice rewards would help mitigate the mood crash-- but my current opinion on all the back ups is a resound "ehh." It could just be a temporary thing, as my brain evaluates everything on whether it is a very good stuffed horse or not (which books, unfortunately, are not.)

I'm also searching the internet for other potential very good stuffed horses-- which is also kinda sad. Not least because the Australian dollar is in the toilet, and shipping is always expensive. But also because it turns out I am picky? Like, the vast majority of stuffed horses are stylised in a way that imo is not cute and looks plain wrong, but apparently the rest of the market doesn't think so! And while I'm willing to give up on the requirement of being BIG and CHONKY-- the biggest within a reasonable price range is disappointingly small, and the reasonably priced nice looking ones all get described as being 'the perfect size for a two year old.' (I just want a nice stuffed horse that I can actually cuddle properly, but nope, there's apparently nothing reasonably sized for my ~big adult arms~. :)

So that's my afternoon.

*Okay, so the "I'm the only one who consistently brings snacks to the lecture-literature-club-things, despite not being the one who pushed for it" is less annoying than the microprobe thing, but as a pattern it's making me a little frowny.

Ugh, this sounds incredibly frustrating! You are essentially being penalized for being the only person to get things done on time. D: (also super not cool about the snacks!)

I hope you can find the stuffed horse of your heart's desire to make up for this. <3
