Sep. 2nd, 2019 03:58 pmThis has been playing on my mind since Saturday, and I still can't quite work out what's going on.
So, on Saturday I rode Buddy, a horse I don't usually ride. I don't usually ride him because I'm a little too tall for him. Not like "I will crush him with my immense tall-itude" too tall, just "this is kinda awkward for both of us."
This awkwardness was increased by the fact that even on the last hole, his stirrup straps were too long for my legs.
Which I can't quite wrap my head around. If I'm too tall for him, why am I too short for the stirrups? Am I using the stirrups... wrong, somehow? Did I inherit my family's 'short but with a long torso' genes? Did Buddy's stirrup straps get swapped with another, taller horse's? Am I overthinking this? (Yes, yes I am.)
