wolffylunaThe Steven Universe Movie is out now! I watched it yesterday, and I enjoyed it. It's-- it's still definitely the tie in movie to a kids TV show, but it's still fun. And the music is great. I'm looking forward to people making sheet music for it, so I can try and learn it.
Disobedient is my favourite song from the movie. I'll admit I like the style of Sadie Killer and the Suspects, but this is a really cool full version of one of their songs. Happily Ever After is a close second though. It's a much more traditional SU style song, as well. But I am a sucker for the different crystal gems singing about their arcs to the same tune as each other. I've been a sucker for it since the extended theme song, and I'm still a sucker for it. And that ...syncopation, man! (I'm pretty sure it's syncopation.)And being the sorta geek I am, I think I spotted two Revolutionary Girl Utena references in the animation. I could be wrong, but there were a couple of points that seemed very Utena.
