For the last few months, my phone has been slowly dying. Every now and again, it would crash and turn itself off, and when you turned it back on it would be very convinced it had critically low battery, even though it had 50% battery. These crashes had been getting more and more frequent.

...these crashes, it turns out, can be solved with a new battery. Which is like $30.

My phone shall live! It shall rise once more!

Hell yeah, I went through that with my previous Lumia (the battery had also swollen up quite a lot which is a sign that it's at the end of its life cycle)

When I bought the phone I'm currently using, I was super distraught to discover that no company really does external batteries anymore, but Sony's phones are apparently pretty easy to just take in to have it replaced so. That's. Not awful.

Yeah it's all about creating a service niche except phones these days are made so simple for production reasons that servicing them isn't that hard
