I figure it's the finishing that counts, rather than getting all hung up on the exact number of words.

Yeah. I'd still like to write 50k words this month, but I'm planning to do it by working on some other projects to get my total word count this month to 50k. The main cause of the WELPing was that I had a moment of 'I *swear* I had some other projects lying somewhere around here.' But I found a project! So that's good.
