Yuletide 2020 Letter

Hello, person who has matched with me, or is treating me! No matter what you make, I'm probably going to really like it, but I know it's much easier to come up with an idea if you've got some guidance. The length of any section is not related to how much I like the characters or fandoms, and more related to how much I can ramble about them off the top of my head. For all my fandoms where I am requesting more than one character, I am opting in to any character or combination (ie, you don’t have to include all of them in one fic.) My ao3 account and my tumblr are both wolffyluna, if you want to have a look at them to get ideas.

Fandoms:
- 默读/ Mo Du/ Silent Reading/ Light in the Night – priest
- Age of Sigmar
- Heaven Will Be Mine
- Machineries of Empire
- We Know The Devil
- I like the whole gamut from fluff with a minor conflict to angst that gets resolved to completely tragic tragedies. - Tragedies that are inevitable and tragedies where the ground work for them was laid well before anyone could predict the tragic outcome, so as soon as the characters know a tragic outcome is a possibility it is too late, are both very good. - As are bittersweet endings, or angst with a happy ending
- Hurt/comfort (hurt/comfort > comfort no hurt > hurt no comfort.) - I like comforters who are being/trying to be relentlessly practical, or who express their care for the comfortee through actions more than words. - comforters and comfortees trying to be stoic (and not necessarily succeeding). - comforters and comfortees pretending that what is going on has nothing to do with one of them being hurt, they’re just being randomly nice/ they’re not hurt at all! - comfort after nightmares/panic attacks/other PTSD symptoms is very good - As is comfort after more recent traumatic events, such as tending injuries after a battle or a character has been rescued from captivity
- Mutual pining/wanting to get together but not be able because [reason], with [reason] being resolved at the end (example reasons: mistaken identity, “I am your boss and it would be unethical”, but in general I am not picky about this dynamic)
- (Or, of course “I should not take advantage of you!” “You are very much not taking advantage of me, what are you talking about?”)
- Kissing! Forehead kisses, kisses on the cheek, full on make outs: kissing is great!
- Cuddling! I feel the same way about cuddling as I do about kissing! It’s all good. I especially like characters falling asleep leaning against each other.
- I like exploring the messed up dynamics and/or the terrible-idea-ness of the relationship, if applicable.
- Characters giving into temptation, eg knowing that a particular relationship is a bad idea, or would be breaking their vow of chastity, but going into it anyway.
- Politics! I love characters trying to navigate it, the tension between their political persona and they’re actual persona, the ethical dilemmas of power, all of it!
- Loyalty, fealty, feudalism, ‘is it gay or just feudalism?’. Intense loyalties, conflicted loyalties: they're all good.
- Two characters sharing a body
- Dancing, either partner dances or just both people happening to dance at the same time.
- Hair, hair brushing and hair braiding.
- Crossdressing
- Religion, religious discussions and worldbuilding about religion. - I am not invested in any particular religion being right or wrong in a given particular fictional work or world, and I am happy with whatever interpretation you would like to pick. I’ll be thrilled either way!
- Horses! Whether they're just in the background, or are a major part of the art/plot. I love horses.
- Pet rats
- “What if X happened instead of what happened in canon?”/”What if Y didn’t die?”/canon divergence AUs
- Crying
- Third and second person POV
- As a general note: anything I’ve mentioned in my general likes (or smut likes), I also like in art. I’ve copied over most of the relevant likes over here as well, so they’re easy to find, but if there’s something in the above list that takes your fancy as something to put in art, go right ahead!
- Kissing! Forehead kisses, kisses on the cheek, full on make outs: kissing is great!
- Cuddling! I feel the same way about cuddling as I do about kissing! It’s all good. I especially like characters falling asleep leaning against each other.
- Hair, hair brushing and hair braiding.
- Crying
- For art, I like coloured lighting and unusual/restricted palettes.
- I also like intense colours and contrast in art
- I like both digital and traditional art
- Dancing, either partner dances or just both people happening to dance at the same time.
- Horses! Whether they're just in the background, or are a major part of the art/plot. I love horses
- Pet rats
- Crossdressing
- Symbolic representations of relationship dynamics
- Tarot style or tarot inspired art
- Pixel art
- Comics
- Cosmic horror
- Psychological horror
- Religious horror
- Surreal horror
- Oppressive atmospheres
- Characters becoming the worst (or bestworst?) versions of themselves.
- Oral, intercrural, anal and vaginal sex are all good (though I have a particular soft spot for the first two).
- People being supernaturally horny, for example sex pollen or omegaverse/heatverses.
- All consuming heats that take over people’s brains are also very very good, especially if they are intermixed with being overwhelmed.
- Also deliberate use of sex pollen, either by the people sex pollenening themselves, or an antagonist doing it
- In omegaverse, I like knots and ludicrous amounts of slick, but can take or leave omega oppression/gender roles and claiming.
- All consuming heats that take over people’s brains are also very very good, especially if they are intermixed with being overwhelmed.
- Rope bondage.
- Explicit negotiation. (Even deeply dorky negotiation)
- Consentacles
- Hair kink/focus on hair.
- Praise kink
- Mild sadism and masochism/painplay. (For example: whipping? Yes please! Whipping until the skin is stripped off a character’s back: no thank you. In general, extreme pain or injuries that can’t fully heal is past what I’d like it (though in a setting with magical healing, I’m more comfortable with more extreme things if it’s established the characters will be healed.))
- Ritual sex/deliberately public sex (ie, the public intended to be there to watch)
- “Forced” orgasms, multiple orgasms, orgasm control/denial, and chastity kink
- Crossdressing
- Sex toys and fucking machines
- Overstimulation/being overwhelmed with sensation. ‘Getting fucked out of their brains’
- Crying, either due to overstimulation or due to high emotions
- Size kink, both of the large penises/dildos/penetrating things and the small penises/dildos/penetrating things varieties.
- stomach bulges are a lovely bonus to ‘very big’ size kink
- ‘Thank God We Lived’ Sex
- D/s, especially when the dom is of a more caring flavour
- Torture being portrayed as good or effective. (Torture happening: very much fine by me. The ‘good guys’/protagonists torturing people: do not want. People achieving their goals through torture (eg getting secret information): also do not want )
- Impregnation/pregnancy
- Daddy kink/ mommy kink / family terms being used in sex
- Explicit underage (<18) sex. (Fade to blacks, heavy implications, and surreal weirdness in the place of it are fine)
- Parental or sibling incest
- Explicit descriptions of needles or hooks going into people.
默读/ *Mo Du/ Silent Reading/ Light in the Night – priest *
I love the amount of characterisation in Mo Du, even just for the minor characters. Everyone gets thoughts and feelings and motivations, even if they don’t get looked at in depth, and you can tell that narrative really cares about people.
I also love the twists and turns in the narrative, the moments where you are torn between “wHAT?!” and “Of course! That makes total sense!”
The relationship and the build-up of the relationship between Luo Wenzhou and Fei Du is really great.
I also love the prose, if you feel up for a pastiche.
Fei Du
Romantic Relationships I like: Fei Du/Luo Wenzhou
Gen Relationships I like: Fei Du & Tao Ran, Fei Du & Xiao Haiyang, Fei Du & Lu Jia, Fei Du & Zhang Donglai
I love how he is a social chameleon, who knows exactly what to say to fit in or make you like him—or troll you completely and drive you round the bend. I also love how he’s calculating all the time—what will happen if does this, or this? What will get him what he wants?
And I love how he Sure Does Have a Backstory. And his self-hatred, his fear of himself, the way he holds his own life pretty cheaply—it’s so good. I love characters exploring feelings of monstrosity, or the fear that they are dangerous or evil or should not have ever existed. Hits all my whump buttons. Exploring potential ‘bad ends’—nearly getting killed in one of his schemes, accidentally becoming the monster he was trying to avoid becoming—would be great for a trick! Or potentially hurt/comfort, if you are in a more treat-y mood?
I love Age of Sigmar’s fantasy kitchen sink-ness, epic scale, and general ‘wizard airbrushed on the side of a van’ aesthetic. Everything is BIG and AWESOME and there are cities riding on the backs of giant worms, soul-stealing underwater elves, lightning zombies einherjar, and humans who have got dumped in the middle of all of this.
I am happy for gifts featuring only one of these two characters.
Zana Mathos
Romantic Relationships I like: Zana Mathos/Owain Volker
Gen Relationships I like: Zana Mathos & Owain Volker, Zana Mathos & Grungi
I love her snark and wise cracking (“I CAN’T TAKE YOU ANYWHERE!”), and her general tendency to be the person with the most common sense in the room—mostly because she tends to share rooms with people like Roggen and Volker. And I love her badss-ery, how well she handles pressure.
I’m also fascinated by her implied backstory, where she managed to, as a mercenary, get a higher price on her head than on her services? There’s definitely a story behind that. And also a story behind her relationship with Grungi, who is the dwarf god of smiths, neither of which she is!
I also really like her chemistry and relationship with Volker, whether it’s what Josh Reynolds thinks it is (“They are good friends. Good. Friends.) or what the voice actors think it is (“And they shall have a summer wedding!”)
Zana is featured in the novel Eight Lamentations: Spear of Shadows by Josh Reynolds, and the audio drama Eight Lamentations: War Claw.
Neave Blacktalon
Romantic Relationships I like: Neave/Talion
Gen Relationships I like: Neave & Talion, Neave & Katalya
I love her competence and badassery and skill as a hunter.
Her relationships with Talion and Katalya are also great. Her wry banter with Talion, and her trying to take Katalya under her wing are great.
I love the window she gives us into the Stormcast Eternals. She’s devoted to Sigmar, but there’s always that question of what repeated reforgings do to you, and whether it’s worth it.
A potentially interesting fic idea would be a ‘day in the life of a Stormcast Eternal,’ whether it’s some down time between missions, or a mission itself.
Neave Blacktalon is the main character of Blacktalon: First Mark by Andy Clark
Ladies kissin’ each other, and explorations of what it means to be The Other and how to respond to it... IN SPACE!
I love the worldbuilding, and all the implications that circle around the fact that is space reality is defined by whoever has the strongest personality. The way that being one of the space kids is a metaphor for being queer, and the way you can look at those sorts of things at different angles through metaphor, while at the same time all the major characters are non-metaphorically queer.
Also, ladies kissin’ in giant robots is cool.
As a general non-character specific prompt, I’d be interested in post canon fluff or h/c for any of the endings. I’d also be interested in exploring the romantic and non-romantic relationships the characters had pre-canon.
I am happy for fic featuring any subset of the requested characters.
Luna-Terra
Romantic relationships I like: LT/Saturn, LT/Pluto, LT/Pluto/Saturn
Gen relationships I like: LT & Mars
I love the layers to her. She’s Memorial Foundation’s unflappable ace—who can barely feel tides and is deeply confused why so many people look up to her. Her identity is heavily constructed, and the way she appears on the outside and the way she feels are often very different, and I love that tension.
And I love how she professes to be the most realistic of the major cast, by siding with the powerhouse of Memorial Foundation, but she’s just as idealistic as Pluto when it comes down to it.
Pluto
Romantic relationships I like: LT/Pluto, Pluto/Saturn, Pluto/Saturn/LT, Pluto/Mars
Gen relationships I like: Pluto & Mars, Pluto & Dr Nix, Pluto & Neith
I love idealistic characters. I love characters who are trying to live up to a messiah archetype, even though they are fallible and human and cannot completely succeed. I love powerful characters, the Mary Sues that can make the narrative whatever they want to be with a smile. I love characters who explicitly have to work on being human, on being more than human in the best ways.
It is no surprise I love Pluto.
I like the way that the image she projects, the all-loving princess of Cradle’s Graces, both matches and does not match who she actually is.
I love that in her end, she ends up making the ‘selfish’ decision, does what she wants, instead of the closest approximation of what all of humanity wants.
She’s great, is what I’m saying.
Saturn
Romantic relationships I like: LT/Saturn, Pluto/Saturn, Pluto/Saturn/LT,
Gen relationships I like: Saturn & Mercury, Saturn & Iapetus
She’s snarky, she’ll fight you, she can do awesome maths, she’ll grab you with both hands to make sure you pay attention to her. I love this incredible chaos muppet. I also love how this “I do what I want, screw what you want!” attitude is so different than how she used to be, that she used to be well behaved and then saw where that got her (it didn’t get her a ship, that’s for sure!) I’d be interested in fic that explored how she got to be the person who she currently is, or fic set in the present or future that deals with the fact that she’s a very different person than she once was, and that old self still have some gravity.
She’s an agent of chaos and hedonism and “screw you!” transhumanism and I love it.
(Though in the any of the endings, she needs to get Mercury a gift basket of some sort, because he deserves it after dealing with her in an official capacity.)
Tragic backstories, people being terrible, and pretty worldbuilding... IN SPACE. I am here for the tragedy, and the happiest endings usually being bittersweet (though I do like Glass Cannon) and basically no one having a good time of it. (Except Kujen? Kujen might be having a good time.)
I am happy if you only write about one of the two characters I requested.
Garach Jedao Shkan
Gen relationships I like: Jedao & Cheris, Jedao & Rodao
Fluffy Romantic ships I like: Jedao/Ruo
Dark Romantic ships I like: Jedao/Khiaz, Jedao/Kujen
I love his brilliance, the way he cares about people, his general air of mysteriousness and the way he treats himself more as a weapon than a person. I also love how he’s trying to take down the Calendar, but for a large chunk of time the best way to do that is work with the guy who created the current calendar.
I also have a soft spot for Ruo Lives AUs, even if that does break the plotline a bit. Maybe Ruo managed to fake his own death, or escape some other way, and they meet up again as adults? Maybe he never tricks the magistrate into doing heresy, so he just... lives. He and Jedao stay in touch as they work for the Shuos, and either they never quite see the rot of the hexarchate, or it takes longer for them to see it.
I’d be interested in fic set before his first death. Conversations at the high table, spending time in the academy with Ruo, Kujen and/or Khiaz being terrible people...
I love the deep, deep power imbalance of the relationship between him and Kujen. Kujen is the only way Jedao can get what he wants (bringing down the Hexarchate), but Kujen can just string him along infinitely, and what can Jedao do about it? Objectively, not much! And Jedao is bad at seeing himself as a person instead of a tool (“ I’m your gun”) and that does not help.
I’d be interested in seeing what he and Cheris get up to post-Glass Cannon. Their exit was impressive and epic, but I bet they still get involved in a fair bit of chaos afterwards!
Nirai Mahar
Relationships I like: Mahar &/ Kujen
I love characters who share bodies with other characters! The intimacy, the fact you can’t get away from the other person, the different way of being—it’s great! I love how he’s the face of Kujen (literally) and the way Kujen interacts with the world and he can control a lot— but Kujen always has the ability to take over, and Mahar can’t do much about that. It meshes interestingly with how much he gets to be his own person (he’s a tool that Kujen uses, but he’s a well liked tool.)
I like fic about playing around with inherent compromises of sharing a body (and considering that Kujen is pretty much going to win any argument), and the intimacy of being someone else’s public face (and often either acting as them or on their behalf and those things getting very mixed up) while simultaneously having a relationship with them.,
I love the character dynamics in this, and the ambient suckitude going on in their lives (excluding after the True Ending), the huge personal revelations happening in the middle of the night at summer camp. I also love the nightmare-logic Protestantism going on. As someone who likes bad things happen to characters that maybe get made better, and religious themes, this is very much a canon made for me!
And did I mention the characters? I love them all, especially Venus. They are the best worst girls. I love the layers to them, and how they are all more than what they initially seem to be. There all observant, and they care deeply about wrong and right, but they don’t necessarily have the power to change things (until the true ending, that is.) And they all need a hug. I like psychological/religious/body horror aspects of canon, and the implied story of having to work out how to live your life after the revelation of being the Devil.
I am quite happy for fic any of the routes/endings.
Also, feel free to include only one or two of the characters I requested in your fic.
Venus, Jupiter, Neptune
Romantic Relationships I like: Venus/Neptune, Venus/Jupiter, Jupiter/Neptune, Venus/Neptune/Jupiter
Gen Relationships I like: Venus & Neptune, Venus & Jupiter, Venus & Neptune & Jupiter
Venus /& Jupiter
I love the dynamic they have as the ‘best’ kids of Group West, who are really bad at being actually good. They may seem more good from the outside than Neptune, but... And the Seven Minutes In Heaven scene, with it’s horrible awkwardness and the tension between what they want to want and what they actually do and the near strangulation is so good. As is the conversation they have about authority and not having to touch someone to touch them.
Venus /& Neptune
Just as Venus+Jupiter is the better kids vs the bad kid, Venus+Neptune is the bad kids vs the good kid who failed, and that’s so good. And I love how insightful they are with each other even if they don’t fully get it (eg the “your kindness will be full of that want” conversation, while Venus is trying to comfort Neptune as best she can.) And the contrast between rule breaking Neptune and “That’s! I’m! Illegal!” Venus is so great too.
Jupiter /& Neptune
It’s about the yearning, it’s about the wanting what you can’t have outside of a locked cupboard, and the ‘opposites attract’ nature of their relationship. It’s so good.
Venus /& Jupiter /& Neptune
I love them all, and I love them all being in a relationship. The way they work together, the way in the true ending they all lift each other up and try to make the camp/the world a better place, being the worst girls since Eve... It’s so good, I love it.
