An interesting thing happened last driving lesson (of the traffic lights + roundabouts + merging lanes oh my! fame.)
Every monday, me and my mother go and visit my uncle and aunt. The monday that had just happened, me and my mother went "Hey, you driving us to and from their house every week would be a good way to rack up driving hours, and getting you ready to drive there would be a good goal for this week's lessons." So, plan was next monday, I would drive there for the first time.
...in our first practice session this week, for working our way up to driving there, I actually drove all the way there. Semi-accidentally. We got up to where planned to get up to, and then... kept going.
I actually thought this was deliberate. My mother... you know how personal trainers will sometimes do the "come on, just one more rep, and then we'll be done" and suddenly you've found you've done twice as many reps as you planned to or thought you could do? My mother has The Personal Trainer Nature.
Actually, no, that was unplanned for her as well. There was a roundabout I was meant to go 360 around, but I, uh, forgot you could do that with roundabouts. So I went through, and then she had to improvise.
But I have proven I can drive suburban places!
