Hello, person who has matched with me, or is treating me! No matter what you make, I'm probably going to really like it, but I know it's much easier to come up with an idea if you've got some guidance.

Length is not related to how much I like any character or group, and more related to how much I can ramble about them off the top of my head.

Lord Seventh/ Qi Ye is a 76 chapter long translated Chinese webnovel, and is relatively short, but I do not know the exact word count

Time And Again is a 6 volume manhwa, which has an official English translation but I do not believe it is still in print

General Likes:

• I like the whole gamut from fluff with a minor conflict to angst that gets resolved to completely tragic tragedies. - Tragedies that are inevitable and tragedies where the ground work for them was laid well before anyone could predict the tragic outcome, so as soon as the characters know a tragic outcome is a possibility it is too late, are both very good. - As are bittersweet endings, or angst with a happy ending
• Hurt/comfort (hurt/comfort > comfort no hurt > hurt no comfort.) - I like comforters who are being/trying to be relentlessly practical, or who express their care for the comfortee through actions more than words. - comforters and comfortees trying to be stoic (and not necessarily succeeding). - comforters and comfortees pretending that what is going on has nothing to do with one of them being hurt, they’re just being randomly nice/ they’re not hurt at all! - comfort after nightmares/panic attacks/other PTSD symptoms is very good. Especially nightmares. (Nightmares are such a good vehicle for revealing things about a character.) - As is comfort after more recent traumatic events, such as tending injuries after a battle or a character has been rescued from captivity - I am a big fan of the hurt being a character having a minor illness or injury that isn’t particularly concerning but does make them feel miserable
• Mutual pining/wanting to get together but not be able because [reason], with [reason] being resolved at the end (example reasons: mistaken identity, “I am your boss and it would be unethical”, but in general I am not picky about this dynamic)
  • (Or, of course “I should not take advantage of you!” “You are very much not taking advantage of me, what are you talking about?”)
• Kissing! Forehead kisses, kisses on the cheek, full on make outs: kissing is great!
• Cuddling! I feel the same way about cuddling as I do about kissing! It’s all good. I especially like characters falling asleep leaning against each other. Or characters holding each other, or a character resting their cheek or chin against the other.
• I like exploring the messed up dynamics and/or the terrible-idea-ness of the relationship, if applicable.
• Characters giving into temptation, eg knowing that a particular relationship is a bad idea, or would be breaking their vow of chastity, but going into it anyway.
• Politics! I love characters trying to navigate it, the tension between their political persona and they’re actual persona, the ethical dilemmas of power, all of it!
• Loyalty, fealty, feudalism, ‘is it gay or just feudalism?’. Dramatic expression of loyalty. Intense loyalties, conflicted loyalties: they're all good.
• Two characters sharing a body
• Dancing, either partner dances or just both people happening to dance at the same time.
• Hair, hair brushing and hair braiding.
• Crossdressing
• Religion, religious discussions and worldbuilding about religion. - I am not invested in any particular religion being right or wrong in a given particular fictional work or world, and I am happy with whatever interpretation you would like to pick. I’ll be thrilled either way!
• Horses! Whether they're just in the background, or are a major part of the art/plot. I love horses.
• Pet rats
• “What if X happened instead of what happened in canon?”/”What if Y didn’t die?”/canon divergence AUs

• As a general note: anything I’ve mentioned in my general likes (or smut likes), I also like in art. I’ve copied over most of the relevant likes over here as well, so they’re easy to find, but if there’s something in the above list that takes your fancy as something to put in art, go right ahead!
• I am big fan on drawings/re-drawings of canon scenes. If you’ve got a moment in canon you’ve been dying to draw, I would love to see it.

The Imperial Coroner

One of the things I really love about the show is all the character interactions, both shippy and platonic. They’re so fun!

I am happy for a fic that only contains one of the requested characters.

Jing Yi

Gen Relationships I Like: Jing Yi & Chu Chu, Jing Yi & Xiao Jinyu, Jing Yi & Xiao Jinli, Jing Yi & Jing Zhi

Romantic Relationships I Like: Jing Yi/Leng Yue

I love him so much! I’m a guaranteed fan of flirty hedonist characters who are serious and competent when the chips come down, and he is a wonderful example of it. I love the amount of joking around and ~physical comedy he does.

I would be really interested in a fic exploring his relationship with any of his friends or his family.

I’d also be interested in hurt/comfort or whump fic about him. He’s just so whumpable! He’d have a fun reaction! And he could attempt to brush off concerns with humor while his friends are very determined about looking after him.

I also really like Leng Yue/Jing Yi, and would be interested in fic about it. Maybe fic about their wedding, or fluff about an ordinary day with them?

Leng Yue

Gen Relationships I Like: Leng Yue & Xiao Jinyu, Leng Yue & Chu Chu, Leng Yue & Jing Yi, Leng Yue & Princess Xiping, Leng Yue & Leng Peishan

Romantic Relationships I Like: Leng Yue/Jing Yi, Leng Yue/Chu Chu

Leng Yue is great, I love her. I love her strength of character and her determination and her competence, and the way she grapples with freedom versus responsibility, and also how she keeps being the straight man in the more comedic moments.

I also really like Leng Yue/Jing Yi, and would be interested in fic about it. Maybe fic about their wedding, or fluff about an ordinary day with them?

I also like Leng Yue/Chu Chu. (When they had that husbands conversation in their first meeting, I was immediately sold on that ship!) Something I find interesting about their relationship is that Chu Chu has a lot of experience being rejected and unwanted, and so someone actually wanting to spend time with her and who is attracted to her is a bit headspinning. Meanwhile Leng Yue has the thing where she’s the most eligible bacholerette… but only because of being related to the grandfather she doesn’t even like. So someone who is interested in her for her and not political reasons is also a bit headspinning. Also there’s lot of opportunities for hurt/comfort, either physical or emotional (possibly with a bit of “No, I’m comforting you,” “No, I’m comforting you.”)

I would be also interested in fic about her relationships with Princess Xiping or Leng Peishan post canon. With Leng Peishan, they’re now talking to each other, but that isn’t going to instantly heal the rift between them. With Princess Xiping, there’s the way that relationships between children and caretakers evolve once the children have grown up.

Lord Seventh / Qi Ye

Wu Xi

Gen Relationships I Like: Wu Xi & Ashinlae & Nahuar, Wu Xi & The Great Shaman, Wu Xi & The Sable

Romantic Relationships I Like: Wu Xi/Jing Beiyuan

I love Wu Xi so much. He is such a good character! I love his stoicism and stubborness and pride and the fact that by the end, even though very much can play the game of politics, he finds people being manipulative and double talking very distasteful. It’s a very good combination of character traits and he’s very fun.

And as for his romance with Jing Beiyuan-- I love it. I’m not normally into jealous lovers, but Wu Xi makes it work. And I love the way he treats Beiyuan like he hung up the moon and applies his stubborn determination to getting with Jing Beiyuan. (And the “This isn’t in the ettiquette textbooks! D:” and the dramatic reactions to being called “puppy”!) And in general I love mentor/mentee ships. As a general note, while I do like the dynamic they have at the very end where Wu Xi doesn’t take any of Beiyuan’s shit, I do prefer the somewhat more starry eyed dynamic they had before.

I’d be interested in fic that explores his relationships with people who aren’t Wu Xi, like the Great Shaman and Ashinlae and Nahuar. How do their relationships change over time as Wu Xi gets older? Does the Great Shaman ever come back from his travels, and how does his and Wu Xi’s relationship change now they’ve both been in the same role?

I’d also be interested in h/c fics with hurt!Wu Xi. I love getting to see stoic characters be pushed till they’re not so stoic, or breakdown reluctantly in front of someone they trust.

I’m also in general really interested in fics about characters interacting with their pets, so if you would like to write some Wu Xi & the sable fluff I would be very much for that.

Time and Again

Ho-Yeon Won

Gen Relationships I Like: Ho-Yeon & Baek-On, Ho-Yeon & Shin-Wal, Ho-Yeon & Soo-kyung, Ho-yeon & Master Son

Romantic Relationships I Like: Ho-Yeon/Baek-On

I love guilt ridden swordsmen, what can I say. It’s 10/10 character archetype, what can I say. And I love characters who are not suicidal on a technicality, and who are willing to give up their lives to help another person (not just in the sense of being willing to die for them, but also willing to follow them for the rest of their lives.)

I love the relationship between him and Baek-On, regardless of whether it’s interpreted as platonic or romantic. There was much squeeing in those last few pages, when Ho-Yeon lifted him up and offered to clear his solitary road for him. I’d be interested in post canon fic for these two, watching them live through what seems like the end of the world. I’d also be interested in missing scenes or case fic for them as well.

I’m also interested in the relationship he has Shin-Wal, and explorations of what it means to be in a partnership with a sentient sword.

One of the things I like is the religion that swirls around in the background of his life (like the belief that if he dies, his next life is just going to be worse because of how many people he has killed) and I would be interested in fic that explored that.

Top 5 Rat Movies I Made Up - JP Brammer: Legends of the Great Below

Rat Girl Hero

So, there are two directions you can go with this, and I am equally hype for both of them.

One: I would be interested in a scene from the imaginary movie. Maybe the Rat Girl Hero setting out on her quest, having a dramatic confrontation with her father, or being knighted by the Queen. I would love that sort of “missing scene” fic.

Two: I love things written for/about imaginary fandoms. I love fan fiction written for movies that aren’t real. I love meta and shipping manifestos and arguments written for fake fandoms that don’t actually exist, and this fandom would be great for that. Some suggestions:

• Maybe in the direct to dvd special, there’s a vaguely antagonistic mostly rivalrous girl mouse, who migratory femslash fandom fell in love with. A fic or shipping manifesto would be great
• Or fix it fic between the Girl Rat Hero and her father (or “oh god I hate all these saccharine fix it fics, I’m going to make it worse” fics.)
• Meta about how the movie is a reverse journey into the underworld, with lots of cthonic motifs reversed, and it is that deep, damnit. (Fan #2: “It really isn’t that deep.” Fan #1 “It is that deep, I have citations!”)

We Know the Devil

I love the character dynamics in this, and the ambient suckitude going on in their lives (excluding after the True Ending), the huge personal revelations happening in the middle of the night at summer camp. I also love the nightmare-logic Protestantism going on. As someone who likes bad things happening to characters that maybe get made better, and religious themes, this is very much a canon made for me!

And did I mention the characters? I love them all, especially Venus. They are the best worst girls. I love the layers to them, and how they are all more than what they initially seem to be. There all observant, and they care deeply about wrong and right, but they don’t necessarily have the power to change things (until the true ending, that is.) And they all need a hug. I like psychological/religious/body horror aspects of canon, and the implied story of having to work out how to live your life after the revelation of being the Devil.

I am quite happy for fic or art for any of the routes/endings

Venus

Gen Relationships I Like: Venus & Neptune, Venus & Jupiter, Venus & Jupiter & Neptune

Romantic Relationships I Like: Venus/Neptune, Venus/Jupiter, Venus/Jupiter/Neptune

I love Venus, she’s my favourite! I love how perceptive she is (especially with the ways she’s sometimes more perceptive about others than herself) and her nervousness and fear of authority. Overall, she’s just such a great character. I’d be interested in both pre and post canon things for her.

For Venus/Jupiter, I love the dynamic they have as the ‘best’ kids of Group West, who are really bad at being actually good. They may seem more good from the outside than Neptune, but... And the Seven Minutes In Heaven scene, with it’s horrible awkwardness and the tension between what they want to want and what they actually do and the near strangulation is so good. As is the conversation they have about authority and not having to touch someone to touch them.

For Venus/Neptune, just as Venus+Jupiter is the better kids vs the bad kid, Venus+Neptune is the bad kids vs the good kid who failed, and that’s so good. And I love how insightful they are with each other even if they don’t fully get it (eg the “your kindness will be full of that want” conversation, while Venus is trying to comfort Neptune as best she can.) And the contrast between rule breaking Neptune and “That’s! I’m! Illegal!” Venus is so great too.

And I love all three, and I love them all being in a relationship. The way they work together, the way in the true ending they all lift each other up and try to make the camp/the world a better place, being the worst girls since Eve... It’s so good, I love it.
