I actually like Newt/Anathema. I get that people seemed to feel like it was shoehorned in-- but in a story that plays around with fate and predestination, that seems fitting? Like, the only reason they got together was because Agnes Nutter said they would-- but that's true of basically everything Anathema does? (At least in the show, no clue about the books.)

(Less controversial opinion: I know, intellectually, what 'southern pansy' is meant to mean, but every time I hear it my brain slips a cog and assumes people are talking about a literal species of flower.)
